It was always only going to be a matter of time before this beautiful shop came under the spotlight.

Yes, it’s petition time again. Seems to me that it would be a good idea for the Bishop of Chichester and his Dean and Chapter to contact the folk at Durham Cathedral. Maybe together they could find a quick and easy way to get rid of the Brewers.
Wonder what that lease looks like! Then again, we don’t need to see it because common sense tells us that the Brewers have probably broken every single clause in it.
My thoughts and prayers are with the staff at that bookshop. I don’t say that lightly. The ball is very much in their court. They will need to read the bankruptcy papers. They need to cover themselves by making hard copies of every e-mail sent and received. When the vatman comes calling they need to know what to do. They need to be aware of the implications of having one of them as a contact on the registration of the Chichester Shop Management Company over at Companies House.
Most of all I wish them well as they try to come to terms with their consciences.

Well, legend has it that St Olaf was pretty “up front” (convert to Christianity or have your head cut off) in his evangelsim, so perhaps those with power in Chichester from the Shop Manager to the Diocese, should adopt a “positive” approach.

St Olaf would have said, “Off with their heads” like Alice in Wonderland? So St Olaf would say today to the Bishop of Chichester, “Get rid of them. You don’t want me to start another war – or do you? Or maybe St Olaf is having a quiet word with St Cuthbert. He would say, “One way or another mate, we have the same problem. We have to find a way to get rid of the Brewers. Can we get St Stephen the Great in on the act?” Even St Stephen wouldn’t want to jump onto the Brewer Bandwagon. Don’t know why anybody else would.

St Olaf’s symbols is a double headed axe. Convert or die was his message. Just like “St Stephen the Great” who the Brewers esteem so highly. This is probably why Mark Brewer wanted them to convert the Church, without permission, to an Orthodox place of worship even so it is still a concesrated Anglican building.
