Time to lighten up. Wishing everybody who reads this blog a peaceful Christmas.

Mousey adds:
If you’re majoring on serpent kind over the festive season, perhaps you’d appreciate this aunciente carol, used by the Guild of Booksellers (based on Genesis3:14-14) from the Doxford Book of Carols.

Justice did just did a swear word thingy.
2008/12/15 at 10:45 pm
I did an abbreviated swear word on Phil Groom’s blog and got an ASBO. The ASBO then got reported on the Lingamish website. Just remember that you did a swear word on asingleblog. Those little dots mean nothing.
JUSTICE DID A SWEAR WORD!

Whatever technology is involved on blogs they could surely produce a requested audio bleep so that everything remains above ASBOs and Radio 4ish. Not that Justice and asingleblog are being Radio 2ish as the Brand and Ross of blogging, of course. (Well, not yet, anyway . . .)

As long as no-one exposes themselves on a blog.
2008/12/16 at 2:30 pm
Its too cold to even take your cardi off where they work, so no worries!

Just to be contrary, it isn’t Christmas: it’s Advent. A time for watching and waiting and turning on the fairy lights in the jewellery shops…
2008/12/16 at 9:50 pm
Hey – how did you get that ‘Notify me of followup comments via email’ thingummy wotsit? I want one!!
2008/12/17 at 7:11 pm
You know what Phil, somebody probably pressed a button that he/she knew nothing about. Sorry – it’s why this is not a “fancy” blog with multiple columns etc. mostly we muddle along.

Justice was asking for a poem over on Phil`s blog, so here goes.
FOR JUSTICE
All down the ages, heralds spoke
of justice, peace and joy,
release of captives – brought about
by God`s Son – Mary`s boy.
300 years, SPCK
proclaimed Christ`s tidings, through
a breadth and depth of literature;
brought Christian themes to you.
Then bookshops passed to SSG,
with `innovative` ways
of doing business. Their `Jihad`s`
unorthodox displays
contained this fundamental flaw.
THE BOOKS THEY LIKED WERE JUST A BORE!
`Forgive our debts`, the LOrd`s Prayer asks.
Ours – and the Brewers, too?
They `steal` supplies; they rarely pay;
shunt stock; think Brits are fools.
We`e in this shop with dwindling stock.
The pressure is intense.
Some canons mouth bland sympathy.
The Church sits on the fence!
`And is it true?` that there is hope
to lighten our despair?
Another Christmas comes – and goes -
without going anywhere.

‘Tis the season to be jolly, tra la la la, just think what you could do with a sprig of holly…
2008/12/23 at 4:24 pm
Valiant for Truth, what I would like to do with a sprig of holly, is unmentionable ,and unprintable. For another time its Christmas.
2008/12/23 at 5:20 pm
Justice and Valiant – I have words for Deck the Halls which may be suitable for our feelings but not on a blog.
2008/12/23 at 7:41 pm
I hate it when I don’t have access to this blog. Phelim I left a message for you on the main blog. I cannot believe that none of you are wishing the people Matt Wardman calls Shysters a Merry Christmas.
2008/12/24 at 12:14 am
